Treatment Details

Microdermabrasion is performed by passing a Microdermabrasion wand over the area for treatment. The head of the wand is made from fragments of diamonds.

It acts as an exfoliant on the surface of the skin. The wand is fitted with a vacuum and so pulls debris and dead skin cells into a filter.  As it has a suction effect it has the benefit of drawing blood to the surface of the skin which boosts collagen production.

How Does it Work?

The aim of the treatment is to treat fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, some scars and to smooth the skin. This will give it a smoother and more youthful appearance. To obtain maximum results you may need more than one treatment.

Your skin may feel dry and tight with some slight redness after the treatment. It is envisaged that this will subside within a day or two. As the skin has been exfoliated your makeup will glide on smoothly and any skin care products you use will be absorbed much more efficiently. 

How often should I have Microdermabrasion? You can have microdermabrasion as frequently as weekly depending on your tolerance for it.  We will assess at the initial consultation and during treatment allow for individual advice. It may be advisable to start with weekly sessions then decrease the frequency to a maintenance regime once results have been achieved.
